It takes a lot of confidence to be this ridiculous.
“Give. The more you give the more you receive, emotionally, and your emotions are your raw material. Then work – give time to your work (and remember that thinking and consuming other art are both working, too) and find external positive pressures – audiences, competition deadlines – because otherwise you won’t edit, and editing is how you really improve. Oh and the way you’ll give time to it: Don’t be afraid to take art seriously – people need art, and they love it, because art is essentially people – it’s humanity, condensed, refined and re-gifted. So yeah, be generous and be grateful, cos if you’re not then you’ll end up insecure and emotionally destitute and the work will be shit as a result.” – Kat Griffiths.
Kat, Celine, and Héloïse sat down to talk with Female Arts in the lead up to the opening night of Fierce, the one woman show written and performed by Kathryn Griffiths. I am also on the production team, along with a small host of talented individuals.
The show will run from October 14th – October 19th 2014 at The Camden People’s Theatre, in London.
